To configure your Windows machine to use Broadlink's wireless connection, first plug the provided Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your computer's network card. Then configure your computer's network settings to use DHCP.
To do this, on the Start Button, select Settings, and click on the Control Panel menu item. This will open up the Control Panel window. Double click on the Network control panel, and double-click on the TCP/IP component (inside the Network Control Panel).
Click on the IP Address tab, and select the "My IP address is automatically assigned" radio button. Click on the Gateway Tab, and remove any "Installed Gateways" that you see there. Last, click on the DNS tab and click on the "Disable DNS" radio button.
To configure your Macintosh to use Broadlink's wireless connection, first plug the provided Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your computer. Next, click on the blue Apple menu in the upper left corner. Select the Location item, and select the Network Preferences sub-item. This will open the Network window.
In the Network window, Double-click on the "Built In Ethernet" item. The window contents will change. Click on the TCP/IP button to display your Mac's IP info.
You should see an entries for Configure IPv4, IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Router. Router is the same as Gateway.
If Configure IPv4 is not set to "using DHCP", set it to "using DHCP" by clicking on the text next to it and selecting "using DHCP" from the resulting popup menu. If the item is already set to use DHCP, click on the renew DHCP Lease button, then the apply now button to get a fresh connection to the CPE.
Sometimes, your computer may have the wrong DHCP address. To get a NEW/Valid DHCP address, you may need to switch the Configure IPv4 item to another setting, click the apply now button, then switch the Configure IPv4 item BACK to using DHCP. Be sure to click the Apply Now button after this procedure.
